Minerva man Dennis Warne killed in motorcycle crash in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP , Ohio (WJW) — A motorcycle crash on Wednesday afternoon killed a 53-year-old Minerva man, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol .

It happened just after 1 p.m. on Beechwood Avenue, north of the Georgetown Street intersection in Washington Township, Stark County , according to a Wednesday news release.

The motorcyclist, Dennis O. Warne, was headed south on Beechwood Avenue when the motorcycle went off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail.

Warne was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County Coroner’s Office. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
