Man dies after I-271 Beachwood crash

BEACHWOOD, Ohio (WJW) – One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 271 in Beachwood late Sunday night.

According to a press release from the Beachwood Police Department, the crash happened on I-271 southbound between Chagrin Boulevard and Harvard Road around 10:50 p.m.

A crash between two vehicles sent one vehicle into the express lanes of I-271. That is when it collided with a tractor-trailer.

A 40-year-old Mayfield Heights man who was driving a 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the release, the two other drivers involved in the crash were treated and released at the scene.

This crash is currently under investigation by the Eastside Departments Group Enforcement Accident Investigation Unit.
