‘Octomom’ is now a grandma at age 49

(WJW) — The woman famous for giving birth to eight children at one time announced she is now a grandmother.

Nadya Suleman, aka “Octomom,” took to Instagram Monday to let the public know one of her children had welcomed a new baby: “Thank you my son and my lovely daughter in law for giving us this beautiful gift! We are so blessed that she is a new addition to our family.”

The 49-year-old has 14 children. She already had six kids before she gave birth to her octuplets in 2009.

Suleman, who, in her words, stepped away from the spotlight in 2013 , revealed the new baby was born on Aug. 30, saying in the post : “Baby girl you are so very loved and we can’t wait to watch you grow!!”

While it’s not exactly clear which of her 10 sons is the new father described in the post, Suleman celebrated her son Joshua’s birthday in August, saying in an Instagram post :

“I am so proud of the man you are becoming. You are smart, funny, hard-working, loyal, humble, and now a devoted husband and soon-to-be father,” she said.
