‘Creepiest thing’: Woman says friend posted TikTok about husband without permission

(WJW) – A woman and her husband are appalled after a TikTok video was secretly filmed and posted by their friend without their permission.

The Reddit user posted the situation to the “Am I the A**h***” subreddit saying their friend, also 28, is a “small-time online ‘influencer’” who’s “always recording and vlogging and stuff.” But, she and her 32-year-old husband, made it clear that they are uncomfortable with being in her videos.

“My husband and I have made it clear to her and we’re absolutely not OK with our faces in her vlogs online and she seemed to respect that boundary. We don’t use social media (apart from Reddit), and we trusted her word when she said she’s not gonna post us online,” the post said.

The Reddit user explains she and her husband have known the friend and her boyfriend for over two years.

“I would say that we four were pretty tight as a group, up until this weekend,” she said.

The Redditor said she was sent the TikTok video of her husband, and she was shocked by what she saw.

“It was a video compilation of my husband with the title ‘God, I see what you’ve done for others,’” the post said. “The video was honestly the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen.”

According to the Redditor, the TikToker posted a video of her husband a various double dates.

“It was clear he wasn’t even aware he’s being recorded. In some of the clips, she would start with her face and then pan the camera towards my husband with a ‘cutesy’ expression and mouthing words like ‘oh my god’” she said.

The Redditor said her husband was horrified when he saw the video, which she said had more than half a million views and likes.

“He said it made him so uncomfortable and violated knowing that someone had been secretly recording him,” she said.

After they learned about the video, the woman said her husband asked their friend to delete all videos of him that she had in her possession, including the TikTok post .

The Redditor said this made their friend mad and sent a text saying “how I was jealous of her online success and that I couldn’t stand seeing her succeed blah blah blah. I replied saying ‘You’re delusional and unhinged. You’re not successful and you’ll never be. Stay away from us, you creepy weirdo.’”

That is when the Redditor turned to the platform to ask if she was in the wrong for “calling my friend a ‘creepy weirdo’ after she posted a TikTok about my husband.”

Though some comments said the Reddit user’s words were harsh, many agreed that the video was wrong to film and post.

“You and your husband had set clear boundaries and she violated those boundaries. This shows that she does not respect y’all at all. I recommend cutting her off entirely as anyone who disturbs your peace is not worth your time,” one commenter said.

“You totally had the right to call her out. Secretly filming your husband and posting it online is super invasive,” another commenter said.
