AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Steer clear! Officers with the Akron Police Department were able to catch a cow that was running loose through the city on Wednesday.

According to Akron police, officers responded after 911 dispatchers received several reports of a cow running around the Ellet area around 8:45 p.m.

The department shared a photo on Facebook of the officers attempting to surround the cow.

“APD Officers were able to wrangle the runaway cow and get it safely back to its owner,” police officials said in the post.

Cattle catching isn’t something new for the department. In fact, as FOX 8 previously reported back in June, Akron police were called to help when a cow fell off a truck on the highway.
