    Local football coach helps police arrest armed teen

    AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – A pee-wee football coach helped officers catch a suspect.

    According to Akron police, a 14-year-old male shot a handgun into the air around 5 p.m. on Saturday near the Erie Island Ballfield.

    Ohio minimum wage set to increase

    An officer providing security for the game called for backup and rushed toward the suspect.

    One of the coaches joined in the pursuit and helped police capture the teen about a block away.

    The teen faces multiple charges including inducing panic. He’s booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Facility.

    Police recovered a handgun near the scene.

    No one was hurt.
