    Police: Driver admits to hit-and-run involving buggy

    BEACH CITY , Ohio (WJW) — A Beach City man was jailed on felony charges after he reportedly admitted to hitting a horse-drawn buggy with his vehicle then fleeing the scene.

    Thomas A. Tolley, 32, of Beach City, faces three felony counts of vehicular assault and one felony count of failing to stop after an accident, according to Stark County court records.

    Tolley is accused of striking a horse-drawn buggy on Saturday night in Brewster , according to a Sunday Facebook post from Beach City police .

    Three people were transported to a hospital with serious injuries, according to Tolley’s criminal complaint.

    A Beach City officer spotted a damaged vehicle in the city shortly after the collision. The driver, Tolley, allegedly ignored a stop sign and was pulled over.

    The officer asked Tolley about the damage and he admitted to the hit-and-run, according to the post.. He was arrested and turned over to Brewster police and also cited for the stop sign violation in Beach City.

    A judge ordered Tolley held on a $50,000 bond in the felony case, court records show. He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 7.

    buggy aren't safe even during the day between them being half on Rd n other half off n semi's n people driving to fast there just not safe n u think in Ohio there a tourist attraction they be a top priority to protect to keep people coming to these tourists attractions

    if I was amish no way I would be out on the road after dark. doesn't matter if it had lights, reflective strips and etc. people don't pay attention might be drunk, tired whatever. the buggies are not safe.
