Man on trial for gruesome triple murder

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – The trial is underway for a Copley man charged in the gruesome murders of three men from Youngstown.

A jury was seated on Monday in the trial of Elias Gudino, 58.

He faces 18 charges, including aggravated murder and kidnapping.

Authorities believe Gudino kidnapped the men in Youngstown before their murders.

The bodies of Inmer Reyes, 25, Victor Varela-Rodriguez, 31, and Domingo Castillo-Reyes were found on March 9, 2023.

A fourth victim who survived told police he was also kidnapped from the Youngstown area along with the three other men.

He says he pretended to be dead until his kidnappers drove away.

Police believe other suspects were involved in the killings but have made no other arrests.
