Woman shoots, kills man in Bay Village: Police

BAY VILLAGE , Ohio (WJW) – Police in Bay Village say a woman called 911 just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday and told dispatchers that she shot her roommate who she said had been attacking her “all night.”

According to an early morning press release, the incident unfolded at a home on Bassett Road.

In the 911 call, a woman can be heard telling dispatchers, “I just shot my roommate. He’s been attacking me all night.”

A dispatcher asked the woman if the man was breathing and she said, “I don’t know. I left because I was afraid he was (expletive) going to grab the gun. I was trying to get to my neighbor’s house.”

Within ten minutes, first responders report they were on the scene and said the male roommate was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Police have not yet released the identity of the two people involved.

Officials remained on the scene for several hours.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
