Cedar Point to sell limited Maverick track pieces

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point is unveiling a unique opportunity for coaster enthusiasts and collectors.

The park is selling limited-edition track pieces from the Maverick roller coaster.

Beginning Saturday, October 12, visitors can purchase a slice of history from the ride’s original design.

When Maverick was first constructed, it featured a heartline roll element after the second launch.

However, the segment was later replaced with an S-curve.

The original heartline roll track was preserved and stored, according to the park .

Only 390 pieces are available for purchase, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Cedar Point’s Vice President and General Manager, Carrie Boldman.

Among these, 100 pieces will also bear the signature of Sandor Kernacs, a representative from Maverick’s manufacturer, IntaRide, who had the unique distinction of being the only individual to ride the coaster with the original track piece in place.

Sales will take place exclusively in the park, starting at 1 p.m. on October 12, with a line forming at the Fast Lane sales booth at the Main Gate as early as noon. Each guest is limited to one piece.

Pricing for the pieces is set at $299 for those signed by Boldman and $349 for the signed pieces by both Boldman and Kernacs.
