Man critically injured in Cleveland train accident

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A 65-year-old man suffered critical injuries to his lower extremities in a train accident on Tuesday, according to Cleveland EMS .

It happened at about 5 p.m. at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority station along East 55th Street, just north of Interstate 490.

The man fell off the platform as a train was arriving from the east, according to a GCRTA spokesperson.

The man was transported to a local hospital with “critical injuries,” an EMS spokesperson said.
