    First frost possible: Cool temps ahead

    (WJW) – Sunshine mixed with clouds, cool temperatures, and dry air continues today. Highs around 60° this afternoon.

    Our first Frost Advisory of the season has been issued for parts of our area. Temperatures will drop in the low and mid-30s tonight. The advisory will take effect for most counties at midnight and remain in effect until 9 a.m. on Friday. Protect your mums !

    The last Frost Advisory was issued on April 24. We’re right on target for the average first frost of the season in Cleveland, typically occurring around October 14.

    We briefly warm Friday with temperatures topping in the low to mid-70s. Get ready for a big drop next week.

    There is going to be a chill in the air Friday morning. Luckily, temperatures will start to jump as soon as the sun comes up on Friday. Friday will be the warmest day this workweek, with highs near or just above 70 degrees.

    The weather will not be a problem for high school football this week!

    The weekend will not be as sunny and dry as the workweek. A slow-moving cold front will drop south into Northeast Ohio on Saturday. This front will trigger scattered rain showers late Saturday into Saturday night.

    Sunday looks like it is going to be the wetter half of the weekend. On-and-off rain showers will be likely on Sunday. This unsettled weather pattern will continue through the middle of next week.
