Votes are in! FOX 8’s Game of the Week #8 decided

(WJW) — The polls are closed and the next FOX 8 Game of the Week of the 2024 season is a huge game in the Lorain County Conference: Columbia (5-2) at Clearview (6-0)!

Coach Mike Collier’s Clippers are off to their best start in years and they’re doing it in all phases, averaging 34 points per game on offense, while Clearview’s defense is holding opponents to just over 7 points per game.

Columbia’s only conference loss came against Keystone (5-1), which was also scheduled to play at Clearview in Week #4 before that game was ultimately rescheduled for Oct. 22.

The Clippers are in position to host at least one OHSAA playoff game and a win Friday would put them one step closer to a conference championship.

Clearview upset Columbia on the road last October, so the Raiders are looking to even the score on Friday.

Columbia relies on the run with two backs who have already run for more than 500 yards each, while Clearview quarterback Cy Christensen leads the Clippers’ strong passing attack.

The conference rivals will square off for Friday night at Tom Hoch Field in Lorain.
