FROST ADVISORY: Quick warm-up ahead

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Many are experiencing their first frost of the fall season .

A FROST ADVISORY is in effect until 9 a.m. Friday for the counties highlighted below. Hope you brought in your temperature-sensitive plants, like mums, before you went to bed last night.

We’re right on target for the average first frost of the season in Cleveland, typically occurring around Oct. 14.

Today, temperatures will be in the mid-70s for the afternoon with mostly sunny skies. A few clouds move tonight but staying comfy and quiet.

The weather will not be a problem for high school football.

A slow-moving cold front will drop south on Saturday. This front will trigger scattered rain showers mid-Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.

Cleveland Guardians host the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 of their best-in-five American League Division Series. The opening pitch is at 8:08 p.m. ET.

Showers will be more on-and-off Sunday afternoon/evening.

Temperatures will drop behind the cold front Sunday night into early next week. Expect some scattered rain on Monday and lingering showering on Tuesday as well.
