CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Cleveland Guardians are one win away from making it to the American League Championship Series (ALCS). The Detroit Tigers stand in the way.

Tickets were extremely limited Friday, mostly standing room only or tickets listed for resale for a premium. Fans around Cleveland moved as fast as they could to be in the building for the ALDS series-clinching game.

“We’re really excited,” Guardians fan Rachel Simpson said. “We went to Game 1, and we know it’s going to be even louder tomorrow.”

Simpson and John Burley are ready to cheer on their boys with it all on the line and expect it to be very loud.

“I think there’s no other city that could top it,” Simpson said. “I went to my he took me to my first playoff game last weekend, on Saturday when they were home. And it was I was smiling ear to ear the whole time. It was crazy. And he bought our tickets last night. And this morning he looked and there were only three tickets left.”

“Right now, all the attention is on the Guardians,” Mark Klang, President of AmazingTickets.com said.

Klang said ticket inventory is low and Tigers fans are driving up prices, buying whatever they can find because their team hasn’t been in this position in quite some time.

“Not only because Tigers fans are eating them up, but also because, you know, there’s more Guardian’s fans using their tickets,” he explained. “Which is what you’d hoped for and good to see for the team in the city.”

With limited tickets available and the game on cable, many fans will be looking for a place to watch the game. Businesses near Progressive Field are ready to host.

“We have 50 taps, 44 facing with local breweries, craft beers,” Whistle Managing Partner Sham Shehadi said. “We have wines, we have cocktails. I think it’s going to be an exciting night tomorrow and we’re gonna win.”

Other fans are trying to convince their loved ones to bring them along.

“We have two tickets for the five of us,” Guardians fan Ellie Olack said. “So, it’s always a battle deciding who gets to go.”

Olack is working her magic to convince her dad to bring her along for father-daughter bonding.

“Yeah, I have to bribe him,” she said. “We’re going to go into the team store now and see if I can get him something to bribe him.”
