Friday Night Touchdown Week 8 recap

(WJW) — Week 8 of the high school football season on Friday Night Touchdown is in the books.

FOX 8 crews were out across Northeast Ohio Friday night to bring you the best matchups in high school football.

Our Game of the Week was a battle in the Lorain County Conference. The Clearview Clippers hosted their conference rivals the Columbia Raiders. The clippers were 6-0 heading into this week. However, with a big goal line stop, the Raiders busted their rivals perfect record, handing the Clippers a 22-18 loss.

Things got crazy late in the game featuring Olmstead Falls at Avon Lake. In third quarter action, Avon Lake’s Jimmy Rosul was headed for the endzone but the ball was knocked away. The Bulldogs were down 10 points in the final 8 minutes of the game, but go on to beat Avon Lake in double overtime 43-47.

A lot of scoring going down in the North Ridgeville at Berea-Midpark game. North Ridgeville was up 28-7 in the second quarter, but Berea-Midpark’s QB Danny Bowser got to work, bringing the Titans to a 28-20 score at the half. The Rangers proved to be too tough, winning 42-33.
