Country singer runs off stage as wife gives birth on tour bus

TUPELO, Miss. (WJW) — It’s a moment a singer and the crowd gathered to see him won’t soon forget.

Friday in Tupelo, Mississippi , country crooner Brantley Gilbert had just started his set when he was pulled off stage for an “emergency backstage.” It turns out, his wife was giving birth on his tour bus parked outside.

The singer documented the series of events in a video he posted on Instagram , calling it the “craziest night of my life.”

It shows Gilbert leaving the stage and disappearing behind a black curtain. It then cuts to his tour bus where he is on the phone with his mom.

“You got a new grandbaby,” he tells her.

The video then features pictures and videos of his new baby boy along with his wife, Amber, cradling the newborn on a couch of the tour bus.

But as the saying goes, “the show must go on.” After meeting his new son and showing love to his wife, Gilbert headed back on stage where he told the waiting crowd “we got a baby.”

The video concludes with a montage of pictures of the newborn and video of gilbert getting hugs and congratulations from his band members.

“So last night might have been the craziest night of my life,” he captioned the video. “Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget. Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”

This is the couple’s third child.
