Frost alerts go into effect overnight; warmer air to come

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Several local counties are under Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories, all going into effect at 2 a.m. Thursday. The entire list can be found here .

Cloudy skies with diminishing rain showers will take us through the evening. Temperatures will stay chilly and breezy, in the 40s.

Notice the clouds linger in our eastern areas overnight. These areas have a chance of avoiding the frost expected to form tonight. That being said…

Frost alerts have been issued for many counties overnight. A FREEZE WARNING (<32°) in purple for our W/SW counties and a FROST ADVISORY (near freezing (32°) in teal which includes the Greater Cleveland and Akron population. Protect your sensitive plants.

We’re anticipating another round of frost Friday morning too. Clear skies and calm winds are a few of the ingredients needed for frost, so although the nights will be rather chilly, the days with be extra sunny! High pressure building in will bring a beautiful stretch of weather to our area. Overall much drier tomorrow through next Tuesday. Enjoy!

The weather will be much nicer as the ALCS will shift to The Land later this week. The Guardians will take on the Yankees in game 3 and 4 at Progressive Field on Thursday and Friday. If necessary, game 5 will be played on Saturday.

How about a warm-up? Fall warmth gradually moving in. Temperatures will warm back to near 60 degrees tomorrow and well into the 60s on Friday.

Lower 70s late this weekend/early next week. 10° above average at times!
