Video shows shootout on South Euclid street

SOUTH EUCLID , Ohio (WJW) — Surveillance video released by South Euclid police shows an apparent shootout in a residential intersection amid a vehicle chase involving two cars.

Officers responded just before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, to the intersection of Adrian and Piermont roads, when the shootings were reported, according to a Facebook post from Police Chief Joseph Mays.

Officers found 29 shell casings in the street. Witnesses said they saw two light-colored vehicles that “appeared to be chasing and shooting at each other,” reads the post.

“We are deeply concerned about this incident and are committed to finding those responsible,” Mays is quoted in the post. “While there was damage to the surrounding homes, we are extremely thankful that no one was injured by this reckless act. We ask for the community’s cooperation and support as we continue our investigation.”
