    Parking restrictions, road closures for busy weekend in CLE

    CLEVELAND (WJW) –  The City of Cleveland is preparing for a bustling weekend as two major events draw large crowds downtown.

    The Central Division Champion Cleveland Guardians will host the New York Yankees for Games 4 and 5 of the American League Championship Series at Progressive Field.

    Mansfield police kill armed man who held girlfriend and kids hostage

    Game 5 is tentatively scheduled for 8:08 p.m. on Saturday.

    Simultaneously, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will hold its 2024 Induction Ceremony .

    The ceremony will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

    The Cleveland Browns will also host the Cincinnati Bengals for an NFL matchup at 1 p.m.

    Thursday the city announced traffic advisories, including road closures and parking restrictions.

    Fans are strongly encouraged to utilize public transit options to ease congestion

    PARKING RESTRICTIONS

    East 9th Street (from Euclid Avenue to Carnegie Avenue), Prospect Avenue (from East 9th Street to Ontario Street), and Huron Road (from Ontario Street to Prospect Avenue) will have restrictions in place:

    • From 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Thursday, October 17th
    • From 4:00 PM on Friday, October 18th to 1:00 AM on Saturday, October 19th
    • From 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 19th to 1:00 AM on Sunday, October 20th

    From 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Sunday, October 20th, restrictions will be in place on:

    • Lakeside Avenue – From East 9th Street to West 9th Street
    • St. Clair Avenue – From East 9th Street to West 9th Street
    • East 9th Street – From Lakeside Avenue to Carnegie Avenue
    • West 9th Street – From Front Avenue to West Superior Avenue
    • East 9th Street – From Carnegie Avenue to Lakeside Avenue
    • West 3rd Street – From Lakeside Avenue to St. Clair Avenue
    • Additional streets surrounding the football stadium

    It is always best practice to check nearby poles, posts, and meters to look for signage outlining restrictions.

    EXIT RAMP / ROAD CLOSURES

    Several Route 2 ramps will close on Sunday, October 20th, including:

    • West 3rd Street Westbound Off-Ramp – Approximately 10:00 AM
    • West 3rd Street Northbound/Southbound Lanes – Approximately 10:00 AM
      • North of Lakeside Avenue will be closed, but access to The Pit lot and Cuyahoga County lot will be maintained
    • East 9th Westbound – Approximately 10:00 AM
      • North of Lakeside Avenue will be closed, but access to the Willard Garage and Jones Day Garage will be maintained
    • East 9th Eastbound – Approximately 10:20 AM
    • West 28th Street – Approximately 10:40 AM
    • West 6th Street – Approximately 11:00 AM

    Downtown will be going back to what it was in the 80s.. Cleveland cant and won't ensure safety anymore.. The city desperately needs new leadership.. Bibb makes frank Jackson look like the second coming of Jesus Christ
