SOUTH EUCLID , Ohio (WJW) – The South Euclid Police Department needs help from the public to identify the people responsible for a shootout near Adrian Elementary School Tuesday night.

The incident was caught on camera by a resident’s home security system at 10:20 p.m.

The video shows two cars chasing each other, one silver or light-colored sedan parking at the corner of Piermont Road and Adrian Road, three people get out and open fire at another silver or light-colored sedan or coupe.

Police recovered 29 spent shell casings from the shootout. It’s not clear if the second car returned fire from the video.

“This is very important to the South Euclid Police Department and the city of South Euclid,” Public Information Officer Joe Di Lillo said. “There’s nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our residents.”

Di Lillo said multiple officers and detectives are working the case to find those responsible, but it’s not clear where this dispute started or where the two parties ended. No one was shot or hurt, according to Di Lillo.

Residents or witnesses who live near the area are asked to contact S.E.P.D. if they know anything or caught anything on camera.

“If they saw that vehicle or those vehicles going through their neighborhood, whether it be here in South Euclid or an adjacent community, then, yeah, that needs to be brought to our attention,” Di Lillo said.

Residents who spoke to Fox 8 said they’re very concerned because this is not normal and someone could have been seriously injured.

“There’s no regard for whoever might be in the crossfire or, you know, they don’t,” resident Brian Radigan said. “Those bullets keep going when they leave the gun.”

Radigan was asleep when this happened, right in front of his home. Now he wants the shooters arrested.

“I hope they can find these clowns, certainly, because that was just reckless,” he said.

Some homes in the area may have taken gunfire as well. Di Lillo urges those with information to contact Detective Lieutenant Parisi at 216-691-4253 or bparisi@sepolice.us.

“If you know of somebody that was involved in that shooting, or claim they were involved in a shooting, or had been shot, or shot somebody, then that information needs to come to the South Euclid Police Department,” he said.
