PHOTOS: Fans cheer on Guardians in Game 3 of ALCS

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Guardians were back in Cleveland for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees on Thursday.

Fans filled Progressive Field, cheering on the AL Central champs who came through with a stunning 7-5 win in the 10th inning after falling to the Yankees in the past two games in New York.

Just like their fans, the Guardians were glad to be back in Cleveland.

“We love to play at home, we love playing in front of our fans,” said Guardians manager Stephen Vogt during a press conference on Wednesday. “And for us, knowing we have three games here, we feel really good about it. Obviously we would have loved to have taken one in New York, but we still feel really good about our chances.”

The Guardians are still on a journey to end Cleveland’s 76-year World Series title drought. Follow along with game coverage right here.

Friday’s matchup will also be held in Cleveland, as well as Game 5, if necessary. The series would then return to New York for Games 6 and 7.
