FNTD Game of the Week No. 9 is Madison at Geneva

CLEVELAND (WJW) — The next FOX 8 Game of the Week of the 2024 season is a battle for first place in the Chagrin Valley Conference – Lake Division: Madison (6-2) at Geneva (7-1)!

The Blue Streaks and the Eagles are both 3-0 in conference, so Friday’s winner will win the division title.

Both teams are also in position to clinch an OHSAA Playoff spot with a victory, and put themselves in position to lock up a home game in at least the first round.

Geneva’s only loss came to defending State Champion Perry (7-1) back in week 5, while Madison dropped its opener to the Pirates, then lost a tough game to Lutheran West 7-6, also in week 5.

Both teams have dominant defenses, with Geneva holding its opponents to just 9.7 points per game, while Madison is allowing just 11.1 points.

The Eagles’ offense has been slightly more explosive, thanks to a 75-6 win over Conneaut two weeks ago.

The conference rivals will square off for Friday night at the SPIRE Academy in Geneva.
