OVI checkpoint tonight: Here’s where

FREMONT, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced an OVI checkpoint Friday.

It is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Rawson Avenue in Fremont.

The checkpoint, funded by federal grants, aims to deter and intercept impaired drivers. It will operate alongside saturation patrols in the area, reinforcing efforts to combat alcohol-related injuries and fatalities, according to OSHP.

Officials urge anyone planning to consume alcohol to designate a driver or arrange alternate transportation in advance. “Don’t let another life be lost due to the senseless act of impaired driving,” they stated.
