Pierogies sold throughout Northeast Ohio recalled

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – If you have pierogies in your home, you might want to check before you indulge in them.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has announced that a manufacturer in Ohio has issued a voluntary recall for some types of pierogies in the state.

Old World Foods, Inc. is recalling their Potato and 3 Cheese Pierogies that were made after December 1. 2023, in 14 oz. and 12. Pierogi packages. This recall is due to soy not being declared as a sub-ingredient on the label as soy is an allergen.

The press release said the pierogis were sold frozen in clear plastic bags in retail stores throughout northeast Ohio. Old World Foods, Inc. is located in Cleveland.

People exhibiting signs of an allergic reaction should contact a physician immediately, according to the press release.

The agency said all products should be discarded or returned to Old World Foods Inc. for a full refund.
