    These are the best places to see fall colors in Ohio

    ( WDTN ) — Autumn is in full swing, with lots of colorful fall foliage exploding across Ohio .

    TourismOhio has shared the 15 best Ohio State Parks to see fall colors this weekend. Each park offers hiking trails, panoramic views and lots of outdoor activities to provide the perfect autumn adventure.

    “Autumn is the perfect time to get out and take in the natural wonder of Ohio in all its vibrant colors,” said Lydia Mihalik, Ohio Department of Development director. “Whether you choose to explore one of our 76 state parks or one of our charming towns, you’re sure to find an enchanting fall experience in the Heart of it All.”

    1. Harrison Lake State Park in Fayette
    2. Mary Jane Thurston State Park in McClure
    3. Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park in Nelson Township
    4. Beaver Creek State Park in East Liverpool
    5. Mohican State Park in Loudonville
    6. Malabar Farm State Park in Lucas
    7. Mt. Gilead State Park in Mt. Gilead
    8. Delaware State Park in Delaware
    9. Blue Rock State Park in Blue Rock
    10. A.W. Marion State Park in Circleville
    11. Paint Creek State Park in Bainbridge
    12. Stonelick State Park in Pleasant Plain
    13. East Fork State Park in Bethel
    14. Shawnee State Park in Portsmouth
    15. Tar Hollow State Park in Laurelville

    Where to see fall colors in Northeast Ohio

    Out of the 15 parks listed, three are in Northeast Ohio, offering the opportunity for a fun fall getaway closer to home:

    1. Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park , Nelson Township, Portage County
    2. Beaver Creek State Park , East Liverpool, Columbiana County
    3. Mohican State Park , Loudonville, Ashland County
