Browns activate Nick Chubb, Juan Thornhill ahead of Sunday’s game

CLEVELAND (WJW) – It’s the official news Cleveland Browns fans have been waiting a long time to hear. The team announced Saturday afternoon that they have activated running back Nick Chubb .

Chubb was injured Sept. 18, 2023 in the game against Pittsburgh when he tore his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments.

He was placed on reserve/PUP with a knee injury on Aug. 27 and was designated for return on Oct. 2.

The four-time Pro Bowler ranks among the Browns career leaders in rushing touchdowns (third with 48) and rushing yards (fourth with 6,511), according to the team.

The Browns also activated safety Juan Thornhill. He appeared in the season opener and recorded nine tackles. He was placed on injured reserve with a calf injury on Sept. 11 and was designated for return on Oct. 16.

Finally, the Browns announced they elevated wide receiver Jaelon Darden from the practice squad.

The Browns face the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at home. Game time is 1 p.m.
