    Local pitcher heading to the NCAA softball tournament

    OXFORD, Ohio (WKBN) – Valley native and Miami University (Ohio) standout Addy Jarvis is set to play in the NCAA Softball Tournament later this week.

    Former WWE professional wrestler, Ohio native coming to Warren for live wrestling show

    After graduating from Illinois, the Mathews High School product transferred to Miami for her final season in the college ranks.

    In her lone season pitching for the RedHawks, Jarvis was named First Team All-MAC. She posted a record of 18-1 with a 3.06 ERA with 3 saves.

    Her lone loss this season came against No. 2 Oklahoma.

    Jarvis tossed a one hit shutout in the MAC Championship game, an 8-0 win over Ball State.

    Following the completion of this season, Jarvis will be heading to the Netherlands to play professionally in July. She likewise has an additional offer to play professionally in Australia this winter.

    Jarvis has future plans to coach in the Division I college ranks when her playing career is over.

    This is Miami’s fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, and eighth overall.

    The RedHawks are the third seed in the Knoxville Regional at the University of Tennessee. They open the tournament on Friday at 12 p.m. against Virginia.
