Mooney standout commits to local college basketball program

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Cardinal Mooney standout Jibri Carter officially committed to continue his basketball career at Westminster College.

He joins former Cardinal Mooney teammate Mick Hergenrother who also plays at Westminster.

“I love the family atmosphere at Westminster — it’s just like it is at Cardinal Mooney,” Carter said. “Playing with Mick is also going to be great because when I got to Cardinal Mooney, he immediately acted like a mentor. He was a great teammate then and he’ll continue to be.”

Last season, he averaged 12 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game for the Cardinals.

He was a part of three district championship teams at Cardinal Mooney.
