Ridge outlasts Jackson-Milton in district semifinals

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Mineral Ridge baseball outlasted Jackson-Milton 3-0 in the Division IV District Semifinals on Tuesday evening.

It was sophomore Xavier Klamer coming up huge for the Rams, tossing 7 shutout innings with 8 strikeouts during the complete game shutout. He also ripped a run scoring double to break the tie in the bottom of the 5th inning.

The next inning, Andrew Gillie ripped another RBI single to add an insurance run for Mineral Ridge before later scoring on a wild pitch.

Jackson-Milton falls to 9-9 overall as the Blue Jays season comes to a close in the district semis.

With the win, Mineral Ridge improves to 14-7 overall and will take on Warren JFK in the district championship game on Thursday in Niles.
