Kotey Paden, 32, r eceived a two-year sentence in a domestic violence case in May. Prosecutors say during that trial, Paden testified he was a combat veteran while serving in the U.S. military overseas, but prosecutors said they later found that Paden had been dishonorably discharged from the service due to criminal offenses and that he did not serve overseas.

A Trumbull County grand jury later returned an indictment on a perjury charge against Paden for those alleged lies he told during the trial.

Tuesday, Paden received an additional 18-month sentence for that conviction, but it was to be served concurrently with his original sentence.
