WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A nonprofit organization called Bess Purpose opened a second location in Trumbull County . Bess Purpose helps women who are victims of domestic violence, as well as veterans.

The group held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday at the new facility on Highland Avenue in Warren.

Founder Rita Tate says she started the organization in honor of her mother, who found herself in a tough situation when she was young.

Bess Purpose helps women by furnishing their new living spaces but it also helps with other issues.

“We do an assessment and then we help. We also help with getting them employment. We have a partnership with Goodwill, the Goodwill Industries. They have employed quite a few of our ladies,” Tate said.

She says they’ve helped more than 120 through the Mahoning County location and have already helped ten women at the new Trumbull County location.

If you or someone you know is in need of these particular services or want to know more, visit Bess Purpose’s website.
