LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Embracing technology can be scary, but a local group makes it easier.

Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS) can help. It’s been awarded $50,000 from the Ohio Department of Aging to help Trumbull County residents 60 and over with technology.

JFCS will buy the technology items such as Ring doorbells, Alexa dots and even computer tablets It will also help with setup. There is no charge for the devices.

“So not only does this grant help provide that technology, in general, but it also gives a chance for me, in particular, to help show them how to use it. Have that person holding their hand when they need to ask questions and be able to show them how to use the technology,” said Nicole Balog-Bickerstaff, with the Jewish Family and Community Services.

The funding is for Trumbull County residents in particular, but Jewish Family & Community Services has grant funding to help Mahoning County residents, too.

Those interested in learning more can call Nicole Balog-Bickerstaff at 330-746-7929, ext. 119 or email her at nbalogbickerstaff@jewishyoungstown.org.
