WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man was sentenced in court this week on charges stemming from a burglary case in April .

Anthony Talbert appeared in court Wednesday where he was sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to several amended charges. Talbert pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, attempted trespass in a habilitation with another person present or likely to be present, aggravated possession of drugs, and possession of a fentanyl-related compound.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, to be served concurrently with an unrelated case.

The charges stem from an April incident where police responded to a house in the 500 block of Parkman Road NW after a caller said they saw two people in a home that should have been empty.

The report states when officers arrived, they found the front door unlocked and discovered Talbert, along with codefendant Brittany Shook, inside the home. The pair told police they had permission to be there in order to clean, but reports state the home appeared ransacked and there was no indication any cleaning had been done.

Shook pleaded guilty to an amended indictment of attempted trespass into a habitation when a person is likely to be present in July. She is set to be sentenced Aug. 29.
