Stonefruit Coffee Company celebrates 5th anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A favorite spot on the campus of YSU celebrated a big milestone Monday.

Stonefruit Coffee Company is marking its 5th anniversary at its location on Lincoln Avenue. The staff held a ribbon cutting to honor the occasion Monday morning.

The owners of Stonefruit grew up in the city and are both graduates of YSU. They say their success is based on one simple idea: treat everyone who walks in the door with respect and kindness.

“I think it’s been a success because we hope to make it what we would have wanted when we were in school,” said Laura Cupp. “It’s just a nice place to be able to come in, look away from the rest of your life for a minute, and sit down, relax, trying to be welcoming all the time, we’re always happy to see everybody.”

And Stonefruit isn’t just for students — everyone is welcome.

“It’s making everyone feel welcomed. You’re coming in for a coffee, but we really want to make it an experience for you where you can relax and enjoy yourself and just make friends,” Michael Cupp said.

The business is open seven days a week.
