PSP: One woman dead, one man injured after house explosion

JEFFERSON TWP., Pa . (WBRE/WYOU) — In Jefferson Township, officials say a woman is dead and a man was left injured after a house explosion Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were working in the area of a reported house explosion in the 1000 block of Mount Cobb Road in Jefferson Township. They were called to the area just after 2:00 p.m.

The coroner was reported to have arrived on the scene.

Debris from the house can be seen spread across a neighbor’s lawn as crews get control of the incident.

In a release sent out Tuesday night, Pennsylvania State Police say the house explosion was due to a propane leak from an unknown source in the structure and that the propane was ignited through an unknown source.

Troopers say the explosion left one woman dead and a man injured.
