GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A man was convicted of traffic offenses and a disorderly conduct charge after police say his unsafe driving was captured on the Liberty Township Police Department’s speed camera.

Elijah Tolever, Sr. was charged with child endangering, as well as traffic offenses, following the incident on June 23.

Police say an officer working the speed enforcement camera captured Tolever driving 115 miles an hour heading south on state Route 11 with someone hanging out the sunroof. Officers later learned the person was Tolever’s 13-year-old son.

Court records indicate that Tolever was convicted of traffic charges, including operation in willful or wanton disregard, speeding and having no driver’s license. He was also convicted of a lesser charge of disorderly conduct in Girard Municipal Court on Wednesday.

Court records indicate that Tolever was sentenced to pay fines and court costs.
