Demolition begins on Warren apartment building

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Another major demolition project is gaining steam in Warren.

Work has started to bring down the Riverview Apartments. Rubble is already visible. Cranes are in position to begin a heavier-handed approach to tearing it down.

It has been unoccupied since the last resident moved out five weeks ago. The building had 152 units that were managed by the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority.

It was built in the 60s and the Department of Housing and Urban Development approved a request to tear it down almost two years ago.
