    Weekend OVI checkpoint results in

    AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — After a weekend filled with OVI checkpoints and saturation patrols, the results are in for the two checkpoints held in Austintown.

    Members of the Mahoning County OVI Task Force in collaboration with Ohio State Highway Patrol held checkpoints in the 4500 block of New Road and the 1000 block of S. Racoon Road Friday night through early Saturday morning.

    The task force reported a total of 307 vehicles passing through the checkpoints with seven directed into a diversion area for further investigation.

    The following enforcement was a result:

    • 2 OVI arrests
    • 1 summons for driving under suspension
    • 2 summons for no operator’s license
    • 1 arrest on a failure to appear warrant
    • 1 citation for improper backing
    • 1 citation for marked lanes
    • 1 citation for reckless operation
    • 1 summons for curfew
    • 1 summons for obstruction

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol also held an OVI checkpoint in on Parkman Road in Warren Township Saturday night, which resulted in one arrest for OVI. That checkpoint resulted in contact with 179 drivers, OSHP reported.
