    Browns terminate the contract of veteran quarterback

    BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) — The Cleveland Browns have officially terminated the contract of former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley.

    Cleveland had reportedly been trying to trade Huntley but was not able to find a deal.

    Cleveland now heads to the regular season with starter Deshaun Watson . He is joined by backups Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

    Huntley appeared in all three preseason games for the Browns completing 37-51 passes for 322 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also rushed for 46 yards, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

    He was guaranteed $470,000 on the one-year contract he signed back in March.

    Huntley spent the past four seasons in Baltimore, appearing in 20 games for the Ravens and earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2022.

    Last season, he played in five games, finishing with 203 yards and 3 touchdowns.

    In four seasons in the NFL, Huntley has started nine games and has piled up 1,957 passing yards and 8 touchdowns.

    Huntley has added 509 career rushing yards with three scores.

    He was originally signed by the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2020 out of Utah.
