WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Free Narcan kits will be provided in Trumbull County on Aug. 31 for International Overdose Awareness Day.

The day is held every year to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends.

The kits will be provided by the Trumbull County Mental Health & Recovery Board (TCMHRB) and the Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) Coalition.

“Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose and remember those who have died. In addition to acknowledging those who have already been affected by overdoses, we want to provide Narcan kits to help prevent future overdoses in our community.”

Kim Walker TCMHRB Addiction Programs Coordinator
