Larnell Hall, 40, faces two charges of strangulation, one a second-degree felony and one a third-degree felony along with a fourth-degree felony charge of domestic violence.

Hall was arrested June 29, three days after Boardman police were called about 10:30 p.m. to Market Street and Willow Avenue after a woman flagged down a trooper from the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to say she was strangled by her boyfriend.

Reports said the woman told township police she was at her apartment in Boardman and had argued with Hall earlier in the day. Several hours after the argument, Hall strangled her as she lay on her bed, reports said,

Reports said Hall would strangle the woman for several seconds, stop, then strangle her again. He did this five times, the woman told police. The woman told police at times she had trouble breathing and she asked Hall to stop, reports said.

The woman was able to get a few things and her child and was driving to the police station to report the assault when she saw the trooper and flagged him down, reports said.

An address where the assault took place was redacted on a Boardman police incident report.

Reports said the woman had marks on her neck like she had been strangled, reports said. Police went to the apartment but Hall was gone when they arrived, reports said.

At the time of the assault, Hall was free on bond for an unrelated weapons charge. That bond was revoked after he was arrested on the strangulation charges.
