HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Fresh off of a 49-19 win on ‘Game of the Week’ last week, the Hubbard offense was back at it again Friday night.

Alex Hackwelder contributed six total touchdowns (five passing, one rushing) in a 39-7 Hubbard victory over Wilmington. Five of those scores came in the first half.

A lightning delay forced kickoff to 8 p.m. and both offenses started slowly after the delay until Hackwelder found Mathew Chaney for a short touchdown pass late in the first quarter to give Hubbard a 6-0 lead.

Hackwelder would then go on to dominate the headlines in the second quarter, first finding Michael Hazimihalis for a long touchdown pass, followed by a rushing score on his own, and then hitting Chaney a second time for a score to push the Hubbard lead to 25-0. He would go on to add a fifth total first-half touchdown to Braydon Songer to close the first half.

The Eagles lead 32-0 at the break.

Hackwelder and Songer connected again late in the third quarter for Hackwelder’s fifth touchdown pass and sixth total touchdown of the game.

Wilmington (1-1) will host Northern Bedford in Week 3. Hubbard (2-0) will visit Howland .
