BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – As the anniversary of 9/11 nears, a Boardman barber is starting a new tradition at his shop to honor first responders.

Alex Sanchez owns Kings Parlour on Market Street. His barbershop is dedicated to making people look and feel their best.

Now he’s taking a day to do that for first responders — for free.

It’ll be from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11.

All seven barbers will be on hand for first-come, first-served haircuts or shaves.

Sanchez says his wife is a nurse and it’s given him a lot of respect for all first responders.

“I have a lot of respect for first responders. We have many first responder clients that come in on a weekly, bi-weekly basis. They support us. We want to do this for them to give back,” he said.

If you’re going to take advantage of this offer, make sure to bring a badge or other first responder ID.

Sanchez will give out some vouchers to those who can’t be fit in during that window.
