Ford is recalling more than 90,000 of its vehicles due to faulty engines, according to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) last week. The recalled vehicles all have a 2.7-liter or 3-liter Nano EcoBoost Engine, which could reportedly break and “result in engine failure and a loss of drive power.”

Those affected vehicles include the following: Ford Bronco, Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Nautilus from years 2021-2022.

Vehicle owners should expect a notice from the Michigan-based automotive company around Oct. 7 to get their engines checked.

Dealers should replace the part for free if an engine cycle test shows the part is not working right.

Ford did not report any injuries or accidents to NHTSA due to the engine issue but made clear “a loss of motive power can increase the risk of a crash.”

Anyone with questions can call Ford’s customer service line at 1-866-436-7332. The NHTSA campaign number is 24V635000.
