It happened near Brooklyn Avenue near Market Street around 10:30 p.m. Police responded to the area for ShotSpotter gunshot sensor activation and multiple calls that people were shot.

A male and female were shot and taken to St. Elizabeth’s main campus and should be OK, according to Youngstown police.

A crime scene lab responded to the scene and collected multiple spent shell casings from the nearby area, reports state. A vehicle was part of the crime scene as well; however, the extent of its involvement is unknown due to redactions in the police report.

While police were investigating, two men walked under the crime scene tape and began to walk directly through the crime scene, according to YPD. Reports state one of the men left as instructed while another refused and was arrested on the charge of misconduct at an emergency.
