AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man accused of leading troopers on a chase with a child in tow was taken into custody.

Matthew Brayman Jr., 29, was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Wednesday.

A warrant was issued for Brayman’s arrest after investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol identified him as the driver who led them on a chase on Interstate 680 in Mahoning County on Aug. 19.

Speeds reached about 100 mph, and the driver of the truck had his one-year-old in the backseat, who was later returned to its mother safely, investigators said. The driver got away at the time.

Brayman pleaded not guilty to a child endangering charge, as well as several traffic violations. He was released on bond following his arraignment on Wednesday.
