BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Some big changes are planned for Glenwood Avenue and the Mahoning County engineer wants to know what you think about it.

Improvements are planned for Glenwood Avenue from Western Reserve Road to Midlothian Boulevard that include remarking the road to reduce the four lanes to three, with one through lane in each direction; a center two-way, left-turn lane; and dedicated turn lanes as needed.

With the additional road pace, a five-foot-wide bike lane will be marked on both sides of Glenwood Avenue from Western Reserve Road to Overhill Drive.

Additionally, a single-lane roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Wildwood Drive. Drainage and traffic signal improvements will also
    occur.

The project is in the preliminary stage right now with right-of-way acquisition to begin this fall. Construction is set for spring 2026.

You can learn more about the project online and make comments on the project’s website. You can also email comments to bdurbin@mahoningcountyoh.gov, call 330-799-1581 or send a letter to Mahoning County Engineer, Attn: Bob Durbin, 940 Bears Den Road, Youngstown, OH 44511.
