Hickory pours it on Conneaut in dominant win

HERMITAGE, Pa . (WKBN) – Hickory football dominated from start to finish as they ran away from Conneaut for a 63-6 victory on Thursday night.

It all started on the Hornets’ first possession when Jadon Phillips took a touch pass from quarterback Zander Telesz for a 47-yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.

Telesz and Phillips would again hook up for a 57-yard touchdown later in the 1st quarter as Hickory piled on the scoring.

The senior quarterback ended the night 7-of-10 passing for 193 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 28 rushing yards and a score. Phillips ended with 3 catches for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.

On the ground, both Kelvin Morrison ran 6 times for 92 yards and Jamal Calhoun racked up 40 on 4 carries as they both registered two scores on the night.

That included a 57-yard touchdown scamper from Morrison in the 3rd quarter to push the lead to 56-0.

Hickory hands Conneaut its first loss of the season as the Hornets improve to 3-0 on the season.
