According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the chase started when troopers tried to stop the driver on U.S. 422 near Parkman Road around 3 a.m. for driving left of center, nearly hitting a patrol car.

Reports said the driver, Christina Barrios, 43, did not stop and continued eastbound on U.S. 422 at a high rate of speed.

Troopers said the vehicle that the suspect was driving went left of center nearly hit another vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway near Parkman Road and Taylor Street. Reports said the vehicle’s tire slightly hit a tree.

OSHP said Barrios continued driving until she eventually pulled the vehicle over and was taken into custody at West Market Street and state Route 45/Tod Avenue.

According to the Highway Patrol, Barrios was found with 79 suspected oxycodone pills and other drug paraphernalia.

Barrios was transported to the Trumbull County Jail and is charged with OVI, reckless operation, and possession of schedule II substance.
